Women's Participation in development is key for long term social change. Chindwin Home Based Care- SLA is continously giving knowledge to women groups to understand that change only starts within communities. A recent training in community mobilzation and health education was conducted by CHBC-SLA. Rose Chapila, one of the participants says, " one woman can't make a change but two or more women have a force of change"

"Investing in organizational development"

Simon M. Tempa (left) is the new face at CHBC-SLA. As a part-time fiancial officer, his role is to ensure that all financial books are in order and in line with projected budget figures. An interview was conducted with Mr. Tempa to explore what he thinks about working at CHBC-SLA

Q: How long have you been working at CHBC-SLA?

Simon: Three months

Q: For the three months, what has inspired you to continue working

Simon: Investing in people and stafff capacity is unique at CHBC-SLA. From my past experience working in the non-profit sector, very fee organizations invest in training and development

Q: As an accounts person, what advice do you have for other smaller NGO's who are equally building systems like your organization at CHBC-SLA

Simon: Everything has it's own time. Just plan and implement your thoughts and strategies.

Q: There are cases of fraud and finanical mismanagment in some organizations. How do you ensure that this doesn't happen at your organization

Simon: Any organization with the right checks-and-balances will in most cases not fall prey to financial mismanagment. At CHBC-SLA we have great checks and balances systems.
